The hedge-dev/UnleashedRecomp repository has received a new commit, marking another step forward for this community-driven recompilation of the Xbox 360 version of Sonic Unleashed.

The project aims to bring a native PC build of the game by recompiling its original Xbox 360 code, following the same approach seen in other recent N64 and Xbox 360 recompilation efforts. No further details on the specific changes in this commit were provided at time of writing.

Sonic Unleashed Recomp arrives as a new Xbox 360 static recompilation

Hedge-dev has kicked off Sonic Unleashed Recomp, a project aiming to bring the Xbox 360 version of Sonic Unleashed to PC through static recompilation. The effort follows a growing trend of preservation-focused recompilation projects targeting sixth- and seventh-generation console titles, applying the same technique seen in other community-driven ports.

The repository has just gone public under the name hedge-dev/UnleashedRecomp, marking the first public commit for the project. No playable release has been announced yet, but the codebase is now open for the community to follow and contribute to.
