Update: June 19, 2026 at 18:39 UTC
The open source Wipeout Rewrite project by phoboslab has received a new commit, pushing the codebase forward with the latest round of changes.
No detailed patch notes accompanied this update, but the commit is now live in the repository for anyone following the project closely.
Wipeout Rewrite is an open source fan recreation of the original PlayStation Wipeout, developed by phoboslab. The project reverse-engineers the classic 1995 futuristic racing game and rebuilds it from the ground up, making the code freely available on GitHub.
The repository represents a significant effort to preserve and modernize one of the PS1's most iconic launch titles, allowing the game to be studied, modified, and run outside of original hardware or emulation.
