Animal Crossing PC Port lands its first commit
A new fan-driven project called Animal Crossing PC Port has appeared on GitHub under the handle flyngmt. The repository marks the very first commit in what aims to be a decompilation and PC port of the original Nintendo GameCube release of Animal Crossing.
Decompilation projects like this work by reverse-engineering the original game code into readable, portable source code that can then be compiled and run natively on PC hardware. It is still extremely early days, with only the initial commit recorded so far, but the project joins a growing scene of community-led efforts to preserve and expand access to classic Nintendo titles.
